Tomorrow is a brand new day untouched by the past.
Most people anticipate tomorrow with eyes on the past. In fact, most people do not even anticipate tomorrow at all, it just rolls in and attaches itself to yesterday.
Tomorrow brings with it the hope of new beginnings. Each day that comes to a close, whether good or bad still has hope of a better tomorrow.
However, just hoping that tomorrow will be better, while thinking on the past guarantees that tomorrow will be a lot like yesterday.
My hope on tomorrow being new and brighter depends on how I am thinking today about tomorrow. A new and brighter tomorrow will never come if I put no effort into thinking about how I can influence tomorrow, today.
A form of living death is planning on tomorrow being like yesterday. Everyone of us carry with us two bags, one for what others have done to or not done for us, and one filled with things we have done to, or not done for others.
What would life look like if we set the bags down today while planning of a new attitude of gratefulness and love for others for tomorrow? When tomorrow comes, the bags will be left in yesterday.
Setting our attention on choosing to make tomorrow a new beginning, will soon make yesterday last week. One new tomorrow becomes one new today, and then one new and better yesterday.
In time, our past begins to be something we are happy about. Right choices made today for a better tomorrow make for a yesterday to be proud of.
We have heard it said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing today that I did yesterday and expect something different. Therefore the definition of sanity is making a choice to be grateful for life, and to love someone else to their betterment.
What ever is keeping you back from starting today, is part of yesterdays baggage. Set your bags down today and plan a better, brighter and new tomorrow. When tomorrow comes, stick to the plan.
